As a custodian of law and order, Securus Technologies has lived to its true billing and released a series of reports exposing misconduct by other inmate service provider companies. PR Newsire reported on Securus releasing the bombshell in a press release where GTL is implicated in multiple gross misconducts. The Chief Executive Officer of the company says its nothing but a commitment to integrity that is needed in the law enforcement industry perhaps more than any other.
Over the next six months, the company has resolved to review multiple issues of systematic wrongdoings by GTL in an attempt to shame them and compel them into acting with higher integrity. And in walking the talk, the company had the following allegations against GTL:
- Programming clocks in their telephones at correctional institutions adding between 15 to 36 seconds to the duration of each call
- Programming its telephones to rate calls on basis of higher rates than the rates permitted either under PSC rate caps or its own
- Artificially inflating its customer charges through addition of various amounts of money to its calls post rating.
- Billing of single call more than once
